Salman Khan calls Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri as the power couple

August 19- On Saturday, teaser of the upcoming season of Bigg Boss as was released. Today comes an extended BTS video as a Sunday treat and Salman Khan is seen in all his elements. This season is going to be about unconventional couples, be it a uncle-nephew, mother-in-law-daughter-in-law, siblings, bestfriends or any other relationship. President Bhandari sends condolence message to Indian President

Kathmandu- President Bidya Devi Bhandari has sent a message of condolences today to the Indian President, Ramnath Kovind, on the loss of lives and destruction of property due to recent flooding in Kerala State of India.

In her message, she has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the President of India and through him to the bereaved family members, stated a press noted issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

August 14- According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the much-delayed upgradation of Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairahawa has achieved 50 percent of physical progress and the international airport is on track to open by July 2019.

The 50 percent physical progress that the project has achieved is out of 70 percent of the overall civil works. The remaining 30 percent or the second package involves installation of Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (ANS) and Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems.

The airport was initially slated to be ready in December 2017.

Of the total project cost, the ADB has provided $58.50 million ($42.75 in loans and $15.75 million in grants), the Opec Fund for International Development (OFID) has provided a $15 million loan and Caan will bear the rest of the cost as counterpart funding.

However, shortages of fuel and building materials due to the months-long Tarai banda in 2015 delayed the upgradation works by six months, and its operation deadline was revised to June 2018.

Subsequently, a dispute over payments between the Chinese contractor and the Nepali sub-contractor Northwest Infra Nepal stalled works at the construction site for more than six months. As a result, the project deadline was extended many times. The last deadline given by the project financer ADB to the Chinese contractor is June 2019.

The national pride project has been envisaged to serve the fast-rising business and industrial hub of Bhairahawa and facilitate international pilgrims to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

After the first phase of upgradation, the airport’s handling capacity will be increased to 760,000 passengers annually.

Damak- : An improvised explosive device (IED) went off today at the ward office of Gauradaha Municipality- 7 in Jhapa.
According to ward chair Balaram Kharel, window panes got smashed in the blast targeting the office. The blast also damaged the office boundary wall. Police are searching for possible perpetrator, as stated by Galdubba Police Beat assistant sub inspector Neel Kumar Shrestha.

It may be noted two cadres of Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand (Bipalv) were arrested by the police from Damak as they were distributing party pamphlets to public. The arrested were Asal Limbu, 25, and Raju Das, 26, Superintendent of Police Bheem Prasad Dhakal said.

August 14- A few parts of India celebrate Navratri with the majestic zeal. The people dance like there is no tomorrow at the Navratri events. And the favourite song of the season is Ranglo.

The folk song has had many versions over the years, including a number in the movie ‘Loveratri’. A new romantic-dance track, titled Chogada, featuring the lead star cast, Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain, has been released.

The music video has been choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant. The dance steps are energetic as you’d expect from a song like this. Aayush has certainly got style and energy.

Earthquake: 18 injured, damages over 6,000 homes in Yunnan, China

Kathmandu, 14 August, Eighteen people were injured after a moderate earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale jolted southwest China’s, Yunnan Province. The injured are being treated in a hospital and are said to be in a stable condition. The epicenter of the quake which struck yesterday was at a depth of seven kilometers. At the epicenter in the township of Sijie in Tonghai, hundreds of residents spent the night at a 16,000-square-meter shelter near the county government.

The quake damaged over 6,000 homes and affected more than 48,000 residents in Tonghai and Huaning counties and in the district of Jiangchuan. The provincial civil affairs department has allocated 200 tents, 600 beds and 1,000 quilts to quake-affected regions.

UAE Weather forecasters, weather to get hotter

UAE, 10 August, Over the next two days, the weather will continue to rise as temperatures touch 48C and the level of humidity rises up to 90 percent in coastal areas and 70 percent in internal areas. The strong winds blowing across the UAE will hardly bring any respite to residents from the sweltering summer heat. On Thursday, the weather bureau warned motorists to take caution as strong gales of winds picked up sand and dust that brought road visibility to 300 meters.

Weather forecasters issued a yellow alert about strong southeasterly to northeasterly winds, which will blow clouds of dust across the country and reduce visibility down to 1500 meters up until 9 pm. Wind speeds will range from 16-32 km/h, and may reach as high as 50 km/h at times, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Naked man terrorizes apartment complex residents, tosses glass at cop and attacks dog

CONCORD, N.H. — A man who ran through a New Hampshire apartment complex terrorizing residents while naked, also threw glass at police officers and beat a dog before being hit with a stun gun and arrested.

The concord monter reports that 28-year-old Irakoze Ildephonse had appeared high on drugs Wednesday afternoon while he ran through the building banging on doors.

Police say he broke into an apartment that had a golden retriever and then beat and choked the dog. An officer says the dog is expected to recover.

Police say Ildephonse had been throwing broken glass at officers before they hit him with a stun gun and arrested him.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday for burglary, animal cruelty and indecent exposure. His lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.

A New Jersey man looking to save time and money found a new way to commute.

Dressed in a suit and hauling a briefcase, Scott Holt paddled on a board across the Hudson River on Thursday, creating an unusual sight for commuters on the New York Waterway Ferry.

Holt, who lives in Jersey City, said he was late for his meeting and didn’t want to be on anyone’s schedule, so he grabbed his board paddled to Manhattan.

“It was fun,” he said. “Challenging but a cool way to see the city for free.”

The north Jersey native said he didn’t think about the dangers of his expedition until later on.

“I didn’t think about ferry propellers chopping my head up till after,” he said. “Ignorance is bliss.”

But the police and ferry staff were not impressed.

“They said they could have arrested me but the cop was gracious enough to just tell me to (move) on,” he said. “They were surprised by my dress shoes and were nice enough to ask what time my meeting was. Don’t worry. I made it on time.”

The 32-year-old amateur comedian was headed to a meeting to find someone to represent him for his comedy act, but it didn’t go as well as his commute.

Holt said the journey took him about 30 minutes.
